One of the toughest opening holes in South Africa. A dog leg to the right over a fynbos-edged dam. A good line is essential. Second shot is to a tabletop green surrounded by bunkers and a small dam to catch the loose shot to the right.

A straight-forward short hole with a huge complex of bunkers on the right and two deep bunkers on the left. On windy days you might want to take one to two extra clubs.

A par 5, reachable in two, once you have manipulated your shot over or around a huge fairway bunker complex. A large undulating green awaits and will challenge your birdie chances. From the tee, the mountain backdrop sets the scene for this hole.

Easier than it appears from the tee. A straight par 4 but the shot must be placed carefully, otherwise your ball will find one of the two dams on the right. The second shot must land on a long thin green, protected by water on the right and a bunker on the left.

A reachable dog leg par 4 for the long hitters, if they are brave enough to escape the large dam guarding the entire length of the right side of the green.

A very long par 4 - stroke 1 is on the card. It needs two big shots here to get on in regulation. Out of bounds guards the left hand side and a small strategically-placed pond guards the right of the sloping green.

A long par 5 with houses lining the right side of the fairway and a long penalty canal and bunker complex lining the left fairway side. The second shot favours the brave, as a strategically-placed brook runs across the fairway to catch the mis-hit shot.

This short hole is Erinvale’s signature hole, with the beautiful Helderberg Mountain forming the backdrop. Not a difficult par 3 but easier said than done to make par as this is the lowest stroking par 3 on the course!

A long par 4 with pot bunkers catching a pulled tee shot. The second shot requires a long iron over a meandering brook, running down the left of the green and across the front of the 53 metre green. A good test of skill and bravery.

A shortish dog leg par 4, with a right to left sloping fairway. A short iron off the slope has a magnetic pull towards the left side dam guarding the green.

Another short par 4, reachable in one if you wish to take on a huge deep revetted bunker on the left side of the fairway. More large bunkers guard the green.

A double tiered green, protected by two bunkers, of which one is a pot bunker in front of the green. Don't forget to consider an extra club for the elevated green.
Walk off with a par and consider yourself a good player.

This dog leg par 5 is the most beautiful hole on Erinvale golf course. Stand on the tee and look backwards towards a breath taking view of False Bay. The line of the tee shot has a world-beating vista of orchards, forest and vineyards. When you reach your tee shot, a totally different view of the Helderberg Mountain is the line you must take into the green, set in the valley below. The green is guarded by two huge swails and a sleeperfaced bunker.

A long iron shot should get you over the dam, surrounded by fynbos. But beware the two pot bunkers on the right hand side of the green. The white flag front pin offers a small target between the bunkers.

A straight forward par 4. But the wind often plays a role as you play up and over the crescent and down to the green. Attempt to land your tee shot between the fairway bunkers on top of the hill, and you will have a short iron into the green, with another panoramic view of False Bay.

A long downhill par 5 with the Helderberg Nature reserve forming an out of bounds on the right side. A good fairway wood, second shot will leave you a short iron into the green.

A narrow downhill par 4, likely to ruin a good scorecard. Place the tee shot accurately between a row of large pine trees on the left, out of bounds on the right. After negotiating the tee shot, an accurate mid-iron has to be fired into a small green, guarded by three revetted pot bunkers.

A slight dog leg to the right. Not a difficult tee shot, but stay away from the pot bunkers on the right. Club selection is important for the second shot, as an over hit shot will end up in the stream behind the green. The 18th green is double tiered and the largest green on the course, offering multiple positions to hide the pin.
